Laurel

Apollo is represented wearing a laurel wreath on his head. Daphne, meaning Laurel in Greek was a beautiful Naiad Nymph who was transformed by her parents into a bay laurel tree in order to escape Apollo’s lustful pursuit. Hence, bay laurel is associated with purity.
